Pic. 4.33. Built-in oil sensor: 1 - oil level sensor; 2 - float with a magnet; 3 - connector; 4 - engine crankcase; 5 - control hole with a bimetallic plate
The oil level indicator on the instrument panel lights up if the oil level is at the bottom third of the dipstick. to avoid erroneous signaling, signal transmission with delay is used. In addition, the oil must be sufficiently liquid. Special sensor on the side of the crankcase (pic. 4.33) controls the oil level in the engine. The bimetal plate at the bottom of the oil level sensor only opens at 60°C. Only then can the oil level in the funnel sensor change. This plate prevents erroneous signals during sharp turns.
When the ignition is turned on, the control lamp lights up weakly (light bulb test) and goes out when the engine is started.
