In the field of engine building, Mercedes offers high technology. 3- and 4-valve cylinder heads and fully electronic engine management are already familiar here. Different gas distribution phases are complemented by different volumes of suction pipes. Lubrication system analyzers make it easier to monitor engine performance and extend oil change intervals. And Mercedes' state-of-the-art diesel engine features direct injection combined with a turbocharger and charge air cooling.
