Sequence of work
1. Rotate each wheel completely. Carefully remove stones and other foreign objects from the grooves of the tread with a screwdriver. If glass or a nail is found in the tire, air may be escaping at that location.
2. Inspect tires for possible tread damage (impact marks, cuts, cracks or broken pieces). With damaged rubber, moisture can easily get inside the tire. From the outside it is impossible to determine whether there is corrosion of the stabilizing metal cord. For greater reliability, entrust tire inspection to a specialist. The same should be done in cases of increased wear.
3. The tread depth over the entire surface of the tire must be at least 1.6 mm. Some brands of tires have a special wear indicator in several places. Letters «twi» (tread wear indicator) on the sidewall of the tire indicate the location of these indicators. Vehicle handling deteriorates with tire wear, especially on wet roads. For safety reasons, it is recommended to change summer tires at a tread depth of 2 mm, winter tires at 4 mm.
4. Check up uniform wear of all tires.
5. Inspect carefully the sidewalls of the tires. Hernias and protrusions indicate damage to the internal structure of the tire.
