1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. Remove the windshield wiper arm.

3. Open the hood and set it in a vertical position. Turn the windshield wiper on and off to return the wiper arm to its original position. Remove the rubber seal from the left and right sides at the base of the windshield. Remove the rubber seal from the top of the engine compartment bulkhead and the heater fan cover (see fig. Location of left and right seal at the base of the windshield and the bulkhead of the engine compartment and the heater fan).

4. Remove the plastic insulating panel located behind the battery and detach the semi-circular cover located at the base of the windshield wiper gearbox (see fig. Removing the plastic insulating panel located behind the battery, Disconnecting the semicircular cover located at the base of the windshield wiper gearbox).

5. Release the retaining clips and remove the panel from the front of the heater fan shroud (see Fig. Removing the panel from the front of the heater fan housing).

6. Remove the screws and the insulating panel located between the wiper motor and the heater fan housing (see fig. Location of screws for fastening the insulating panel installed between the windshield wiper motor and the heater fan housing, Removing the insulating panel located between the windshield wiper motor and the heater fan housing).

7. Release the retaining clips, then unscrew the screws and remove the left and right sections of the heater fan shroud. To access the wiper motor, unscrew the screws and remove the center section of the heater fan shroud (see fig. Location of the mounting bracket and screws securing the side section of the heater fan shroud, Location of the mounting screws for the center section of the heater fan shroud, Removing the center section of the heater fan shroud).

8. Remove the four nuts and detach the mounting bracket from the base of the wiper motor (see fig. Wiper motor mounting nuts location, Releasing the mounting bracket located at the base of the wiper motor).

9. Remove the windshield wiper unit, disconnecting the electrical connector from it (see Fig. Disconnecting the electrical connector from the windshield wiper unit).

10. If necessary, mark the location of the crank on the motor shaft, then unscrew the nut and remove the gearbox from the motor shaft. Unscrew the motor mounting bolts and remove the motor from the windshield wiper assembly (see fig. Location of the nut on the crank shaft and the windshield wiper motor mounting bolts).

Installation

1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the electric motor mounting bolts and the nut on the crank shaft to the required torque. Check that all heater fan casings and panels are installed correctly and that they are securely fastened.
