Front wiper drive installation details


1. The installation details of the windshield wiper drive are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Make sure that the wipers are stopped in the parking position and remove the wiper arms (1) (see Section Removal and installation windshield wiper arms).

3. Remove the rubber seal (2) from the engine compartment bulkhead.

4. Release the metal fasteners (5), loosen the nuts (4) and remove the foam insert.

5. Seal the washer fluid supply hose to the check valve.

6. Remove the air intake cover (3) complete with the water deflector panel (6).

7. Remove the air intake cover.

8. Loosen the nuts (7) and carefully remove the drive mechanism (8).



9. If necessary, disconnect the electrical wiring (9) and remove the electric motor (M6/1).

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - replace the defective sealing elements of the air intake cover, before installation lubricate the upper edge of the cover and the surface of the windshield with a soap solution.
