Attention! Servicing and repairing the glass cleaner carries the risk of injury. To prevent the wiper mechanism from operating during work, remove the key from the ignition switch.
Rubber band wiper blade - replacement
The rubber band must be replaced if the quality of glass cleaning is poor. Both wiper blades as an assembly and rubber bands for the wipers are available for sale separately. If only the rubber band is being replaced, do not bend the band holder when replacing.
Attention! If the wiper blade vibrates when moving across the glass, this does not always mean that the blade or rubber band needs to be replaced. Check or re-adjust the angle of the wiper arms.
Removing
1. Move the wiper arms away from the glass along with the brushes.
2. Place the brush at right angles to the lever.
3. Press the latch of the lock A and remove the brush holder B from the lever by pulling down (see arrows in illustration).
4. Squeeze both steel guide bars with pliers and release the band fastening bracket at the upper end of the brush. Then open the brackets along the entire length of the brush and remove the rubber band along with the steel guides (see illustration).
Installation
5. Attach the new rubber band to the brackets without installing the bar guide.
6. Place both guide bars on the end of the rubber band so that the tabs on the guides face the band and fit into the grooves.
7. Compress both guides on the rubber band with pliers and secure them to the upper end of the brush by inserting the fastening brackets into the locking holes (see illustration).
8. Slide the brush onto the arm and secure it to the holding hook. If a fairing is installed on the cleaner, then they should be facing down.
9. Return the wiper arm to its original position. Pay attention to the fact that the rubber band adheres to the glass along its entire length. Bend the lever carefully if necessary.
Windshield washer jets - adjustment
10. Correct with a needle (see illustration) the direction of the jet of washing liquid from the jets. To do this, insert a needle into the jet nozzle and mark the point on the glass where the opposite end of the needle points.
11. Adjust the position of the jets so that the jets of washer fluid hit the points marked on the windshield.
The jets can be cleaned with compressed air. To do this, the jets must be removed and blown with compressed air through the windshield washer hose fitting.
Attention! Do not purge the jets from the nozzle side.
If the jet cannot be adjusted or fluid is supplied unevenly, then the jet should be replaced.
