Replacing headlight and windshield wiper blades (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W140)

Note: Remove the key from the ignition before replacing the brushes.


Windscreen wipers



Note: Alternatively, the rubber working elements of the brushes can be replaced individually - it would be reasonable to entrust this work to car service specialists.

Remove the windshield wiper arms from the parking recess. To prevent the arms from slipping back, replace the wipers one by one. Move the arm away from the glass, press the locking tab (1) and remove the wiper (2).

Driver's windshield wiper

Release the locking tab of the new blade, insert the blade between the mounting tabs (3) on the wiper arm and place it on the end of the arm. Press down to snap the locking tab into place. Check that the blade is securely fastened to the arm.

Passenger windshield wiper

Passenger windshield wiper


Insert the brush into the hook at the end of the lever until the locking tab snaps into place. Check that the brush is securely locked.

Headlight Lens Cleaners

Move the wiper arm away from the headlight lens, press the locking pin (1) and remove the blade.

Installation is carried out in reverse order.
