1. Remove the steering box.
2. Remove the upper circlip from the steering shaft, then carefully remove the o-ring. At the same time, put an alignment mark on the shaft.
3. Clean the shaft and O-ring seat of any dirt.
4. Wrap the shaft splines with adhesive tape so as not to damage the working edges of the new sealing ring when installing it. Install a new O-ring on the shaft and press it into the crankcase seat.
5. Remove the adhesive tape from the shaft splines, then install the top circlip into the shaft groove.
6. Install the steering arm.
7. On models with power steering, bleed the hydraulic system.
