Removal
1. Apply the parking brake, then raise the front of the vehicle and secure it on stands.
2. Unscrew the nut, remove the bolt and separate the steering shock absorber from the center steering rod.
3. Unscrew the nuts securing the ball joint pins of the central steering rod to the steering gear and intermediate arm. Using a puller, remove the ball joints of the central steering rod and remove the rod from under the car.
4. Check the smooth movement of the ball joints of the steering rod, as well as the condition of the protective boots of the ball joints. If there are any defects, the central steering rod must be replaced as an assembly. If the protective boots of the ball joints are damaged, replace them and fill the ball joints with fresh grease.
Installation
1. Clean the ball joint journals and install the steering rod in place. Screw new nuts onto the ball joint journals and tighten them to the specified torque.

2. Attach the steering damper to the central steering rod and insert the mounting bolt. Screw a new nut onto the bolt and tighten it to the specified torque.
