Removing
1. Apply the parking brake, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
2. Unscrew the nut, remove the bolt and separate the steering damper from the central tie rod.
3. Remove the nuts securing the center tie rod ball joint trunnions to the steering gear and intermediate lever. Using a puller, remove the center tie rod ball joints and remove the tie rod from under the vehicle.
4. Check up smoothness of movement of spherical joints of steering draft, and also a condition of protective covers of spherical joints. In the presence of any defects, the central steering rod must be replaced as an assembly. If the ball joint protectors are damaged, replace them and fill the ball joints with fresh grease.
Installation

2. Connect the steering shock absorber to the central tie rod and insert the mounting bolt. Screw a new nut onto the bolt and tighten it to the required torque.
