When the engine rotates, the poppet (203) unloads if the cam (184) camshaft pointing up. Spring (d) presses the compensating element (204), and it is adjacent to the bottom of the valve stem (195), and at the top of the pressure sleeve (A) presses on the poppet (203) towards the camshaft. In this position, engine oil through a small hole (e) pouring in or pouring out of the working chamber (With). As soon as the poppet is unloaded again, the ball valve is closed by turning the cam of the rotating camshaft (b), and the enclosed oil acts as a solid. Length (L), thus adapting with each rotation of the camshaft to the corresponding changes in the size of the parts in the valve actuator. It is not possible to repair the poppet pusher.
Attention! Noises in the valve drive when starting the engine are normal. When the engine is stopped, depending on the position of the cam, more or less oil is pushed out of the separate valve lifter. This causes noise until the hydraulic tappet is refilled with oil as the engine rotates. Depending on the circumstances, this process may continue until the engine has reached operating temperature. To ensure that the hydraulic tappet functions flawlessly, the cylinder head has an oil recirculation blocking device that ensures that the oil passages in the cylinder head are completely emptied of oil when the engine is stopped.
Control
Checking the hydraulic tappet should be carried out if noise in the valve actuator continues when the engine reaches operating temperature.
1. Drive with a warm engine. After the coolant has reached operating temperature, continue driving for another 5 km to ensure sufficient engine oil temperature.
2. If the hydraulic tappet still makes noise, stop the engine and remove the cylinder head cover.
3. Rotate the camshaft so that the cams of the cylinder to be checked are pointing up. To do this, set the gearbox to idle, apply the parking brake and turn the crankshaft at the belt pulley bolt with a suitable wrench clockwise.
4. Push the poppet down with a wooden or plastic rod. If at the same time the poppet pusher moves down more easily than others, then it should be replaced.
