- unscrew the plug (figure 263) tank and take it out. To check, wipe the dipstick thoroughly and insert it into the filler hole, then remove it and determine the level. The normal fluid level should be between the Min and Max marks;
- check the tank cap gasket and replace if necessary. Screw the plug back in. The power steering fluid level should be checked every time the engine oil level is checked. However, one should not forget about routine checks. When filling, be careful to ensure that no foreign objects get into the open tank - this may cause malfunctions.
