Sequence of work
1. Remove the hood clips (each with two bolts). Pre-mark the starting position.
2. Unclip the drive cable from the retainer. If available, also disconnect the anti-theft system connector.
3. Remove the hood release lever in the cabin (two bolts) and disconnect the cable from it.
4. Disconnect the cable clamps on the fender and in the bumper area.
5. To simplify the installation of a new cable, tie it with a wire to the old one. Pull the old cable into the cabin until the new one shows. Attach it to the lever mount.
6. Check up correctness of installation of a cable in consolidation of an aperture in a motor compartment.
7. Fix a new cable in clamps in a motor compartment. At the same time, make sure that the flexible sheath of the cable is in the correct position.
8. After installing the hood lock, adjust the position of the hood if necessary. The cable drive itself is not adjustable.
Broken hood release cable
First, try to hook it with pliers from the passenger compartment and pull the end of the broken cable (if the cable broke in this place). If the hood does not open, bend a hook from a piece of thick wire and put it between the hood and the bumper. With it, press the spring-loaded lock lever to the right, in which the cable is also fixed. If at the same time lightly press on the hood, it will be easier to remove the locking hook.
