Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the compressed air supply tube from the air filter (only on engines 602.985).
3. Remove the clamps 13 of the fuel lines (figure 2.12).
4. Disconnect the oil drain pipe 11.
5. Remove fuel lines 12.
6. Remove the generator and intake manifold.
7. Disconnect all wiring connectors from the cylinder head.
8. Remove the fuel filter 4.
9. Remove the camshaft.
10. Loosen and remove the alternator drive belt.
11. Unscrew bolt 18 securing the oil level indicator guide pipe from the cylinder head.
12. Unscrew bolt 17 securing the generator drive belt tensioner shock absorber to the cylinder head.
13. Remove the oil radiator 32,
14. Disconnect pipes 9 and 10 of the cooling system from the cylinder head.
15. Disconnect the compressed air supply pipe 28 from the turbocharger 20
16. Unscrew the outlet pipe 31 from the turbocharger 20.
17. Unscrew the pressure 22 and drain 24 oil lines from the turbocharger 20 and the cylinder block and remove it. Replace sealing rings 22b, 25 and gasket 24a.
18. Unscrew the bracket securing the compressed air supply pipe from the cylinder head (only on engines 602.985).
19. Remove the cylinder head guide pins.
20. Loosen and unscrew bolts 2 and 3 securing the cylinder head.
21. Remove cylinder head 1.
22. Wipe the contact surfaces of the cylinder head, check for scoring or wear.
Installation
23. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
