Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the lower engine cover.
3. Remove the engine protective cover.
4. Remove the air filter.
5. Remove the cylinder head cover 1 (figure 2.13).
6. Set the piston of the first cylinder to TDC. The marks on the camshaft and the camshaft bearing cap (arrows) must be aligned.
7. Mark the location (relative to each other) camshaft pulley 4 and camshaft drive chain 3.
8. Lock the flywheel using lock 7.
9. Remove the chain drive tensioner 2.
10. Unscrew bolt 12, remove gasket 13 and camshaft pulley 4.
11. Remove the bearing caps 5 of the camshaft.
12. Remove camshaft 6.
13. Remove the axial clearance adjusters 14 of the camshaft. Check them for damage and check the camshaft end clearance.

Installation
14. Lubricate camshaft 6.
15. Insert camshaft 6 into the bearings.
16. Insert the axial clearance adjusters 14.
17. Install the camshaft bearing caps with guide pins 9.
18. Check the length of the bolts 12. Replace the bolt if its length is longer than the permissible length.
19. Install pulley 14 together with the chain on camshaft 6.
20. Secure the camshaft pulley with bolts 12 and gaskets 13.
21. Install tensioner 2 of the chain drive.
22. Unlock the flywheel.
23. Check the position of the camshaft. Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions and check the installation of the piston of the first cylinder at TDC. The marks on the camshaft and the cover of the first camshaft bearing should match.
24. Install the cylinder head cover 1.
25. Install the air filter.
26. Install the lower cover and engine shield.

27. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
