Unscrew the bolt (26) from the expanding cam (27) and pull the control brake cable (10) out of the retainer.

Installation

Lubricate all bearing and sliding surfaces of the expansion cam with high-temperature paste (for example, Liqui Moly LM-36 or LM-50-ASC, Molykote-Paste-U or G-Rapid).

Connect the brake cable to the brake knuckle with bolts and press the knuckle towards the brake shield (19).

Check the reliability of the fastening of the two bolts on the bracket (13).

Check the reliability of the fastening of the two bolts on the bracket (13).

Install the regulator in place. Lubricate the thread of the pressure part (21) and the cylindrical part of the adjustment wheel (22) with high-temperature paste.

Unscrew the pressure part (21) into the adjusting wheel (22) and install the pressure coupling.

Install the adjuster between the two brake shoes so that the adjusting wheel (22) faces the front of the vehicle.

Attach the tension spring to the brake shoes.

Spread the lower parts of the brake shoes apart, pass them through the flange of the rear axle shaft and hook them onto the expander knuckle.

Using a screwdriver, install the spring into one of the brake shoes through the threaded hole in the rear axle flange, compress it slightly and turn it 90°, thus hooking it onto the brake shield. Check that the spring is installed correctly.

Install the spring of the second brake shoe in the same manner.

Install the spring of the second brake shoe in the same manner.

Hook the tension spring to one of the brake shoes on the small hook side. Large hook (see arrow) is hooked onto the second shoe using a screwdriver.

Install the rear brake disc in place.

Adjust the handbrake.
