Brake pad lubrication points
Scheme of the spreader mechanism
Brake line connection
1. Apply the parking brake, jack up the front of the vehicle, secure the vehicle and remove the wheels.
2. Disconnect the wear sensor connector with needle nose pliers (if it is installed).
Note. When working on calipers of the type «Teevs» to remove the studs for fastening the pads, use a drift of types «Bendix» or «Girling», remove the clamps and press out the mounting studs.
3. Using pliers, sink one of the pads and its piston into the cylinder cavity and remove the pad.
4. Inspect the pads and, if necessary, replace all pads of the front brake mechanisms.
5. Fully sink one of the pistons into the cylinder cavity, apply a thin layer of heat-resistant brake grease to the edges and back surface of the new brake pad and insert the pad into the caliper. Install the second block in the same way.
6. Install the retaining spring on the pads, drive in the studs (put the clamps).
7. Connect the wires to the brake pad wear sensor.
8. Carry out similar work on the second wheel.
9. Install the wheels and lower the vehicle.
Note. Similarly, operations are carried out to replace the disc brake pads of the rear wheels.
