Scheme of the release mechanism
Brake line connection
1. Apply the parking brake, jack up the front of the vehicle, secure the vehicle and remove the wheels.
2. Disconnect the wear sensor connector with needle-nose pliers (if it is installed).
Note: When working on Tivs type calipers, use a Bendix or Girling type punch to remove the pad mounting studs, remove the clamps and press out the mounting studs.
3. Using pliers, press one of the pads and its piston into the cylinder cavity and remove the pad.
4. Conduct a defect inspection of the pad and, if necessary, replace all front brake pads.
5. Fully press one of the pistons into the cylinder cavity, apply a thin layer of heat-resistant brake grease to the edges and rear surface of the new brake pad and insert the pad into the caliper. Install the second pad in the same way.
6. Install the retaining spring on the pads, drive in the studs (put the clamps on).
7. Connect the wires to the brake pad wear sensor.
8. Perform the same work on the second wheel.
9. Install the wheels and lower the vehicle.
