3. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the protective cover from the front of the clutch housing (see Fig. Removing the protective cover from the front of the clutch housing).

4. Remove the sealing gasket from the back of the cover (see Fig. Removing the sealing gasket from the protective cover).

5. Using a screwdriver blade as a lever, remove the sealing ring from the cover (see Fig. Location of the input shaft sealing ring in the protective cover).

6. Carefully clean the O-ring seat in the protective cover. Using a tubular mandrel of the appropriate diameter, install a new O-ring into the cover.

7. Lubricate and install the sealing gasket into the protective cover, then carefully install the protective cover onto the clutch housing.

Removal the gearbox output flange mounting nut

1. Disconnect the propeller shaft from the gearbox output flange.

2. Place the gear shift lever in neutral position.

3. Using a special tool, secure the gearbox output flange from turning. Access to the output flange mounting nut must be free.

4. Unscrew the gearbox output flange mounting nut. A new nut must be used when installing (see Fig. Removing the gearbox output flange mounting nut).

5. Using a puller, remove the output flange from the transmission shaft.

6. Using a screwdriver blade as a lever, remove the transmission output flange sealing ring.

7. Carefully clean the O-ring seat.

8. Using a tubular mandrel of the appropriate diameter, install a new outlet flange seal ring.

9. Install the flange onto the gearbox output shaft and secure it with a new nut. When tightening the nut, use a special tool to hold the flange from turning.
