Unscrewing the oil filler/check plug in a manual transmission

1. Place a suitable container under the transmission oil drain plug located at the bottom of the transmission case. To speed up the draining of the transmission oil, unscrew the oil level check/fill plug on the right side. Unscrew the transmission oil drain plug and, if necessary, apply pressure to the plug as you unscrew it to prevent the oil from leaking prematurely. A hex key is required to unscrew the plugs, but an appropriately long nut or hex key and a spanner can be used instead (see fig. 2. Once the oil has completely drained, wipe off any debris around the drain hole with a rag and screw the plug back in securely with a new sealing ring.
3. Fill the gearbox with the required type of oil to the bottom of the filler hole. Use your finger to check whether the oil level reaches the edge of the hole and add oil if necessary. When adding oil, place a container underneath to collect the leaking oil. Do not add too much oil at one time.
4. Screw in the oil filler and oil level check plug.
