Attention! A hex wrench must be used to unscrew the oil fill/check plug and the oil drain plug.
Unscrewing the filling plug / checking the oil level in a manual transmission
Location of the oil drain plug from the manual transmission
1. Place a suitable container under the gearbox oil drain plug located at the bottom of the gearbox housing. To speed up the draining of the oil from the gearbox on the right side, unscrew the oil level check / fill plug. Unscrew the oil drain plug from the gearbox and, if necessary, press down on the plug when unscrewing to prevent the oil from leaking prematurely. To unscrew the plugs, a hex key is required, but an appropriate long nut or hex piece and wrench can be used instead (see fig. Unscrewing the oil fill / check oil level plug in a manual transmission, Location of the oil drain plug from a manual transmission).
2. When the oil is completely drained, wipe everything around the drain hole with a rag and screw the plug securely with a new o-ring into place.
3. Fill the gearbox with the correct type of oil to the lower level of the filler hole. Use your finger to check if the oil level reaches the edge of the hole and add oil if necessary. When pouring oil, place a container to collect the leaking oil. Do not add too much oil at one time.
4. Screw in the fill plug and check the oil level.
