Examination
1. The reversing lights are activated by a plunger-type switch located at the rear of the gear selector assembly under the center console. If the reversing lights do not work, first check the integrity of the fuse.
2. To access the reverse light switch, remove the trim from the center console.
3. To check the functionality of the reverse light switch, disconnect the electrical connectors from it and connect an ohmmeter to the switch contacts. Check whether the switch contacts close when the reverse gear is engaged. If the switch contacts do not close, then the switch is faulty and must be replaced.
Removal
1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. To access the reverse light switch, remove the trim panel from the center console.
3. Remove the switch from the bracket and disconnect the electrical connectors from it.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
