Examination
1. The reversing light circuit is controlled by a plunger-type switch located at the rear of the gear select lever under the center console. If you find a fault in the circuit, check the fuse first.
2. To access the switch, operating from inside the car, remove the cover from the central console (see chapter 11), to get to the shift lever assembly.
3. To test the switch, disconnect the connector and use a multimeter (set it to resistance measurement mode) or a probe (battery and light bulb) make sure the circuit is closed only when reverse gear is engaged. If this is not the case, and there are no visible breaks or other damage to the wires, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.
Removing
4. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
5. Follow the steps described in point 2.
6. Unfasten the switch from the bracket and disconnect the plug.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in reverse order
