Removal
Caution! The cylinder head cover is removed together with the high-voltage wires and distributor cap. When installing the cylinder head cover, a new gasket must be used.
1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hoses from the cylinder head cover. If necessary, remove the electrical wires from the mounting brackets on the cylinder head cover and move them to the side.
4. Mark and remove the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs.
5. Remove the distributor cap.
6. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the cylinder head cover.
7. Remove the cylinder head cover gasket and, if present, remove the sealing gaskets from the front or rear of the cylinder head.
Installation

1. Clean the inner surface of the cylinder head cover from oil deposits.
2. Install the sealing gaskets on both sides of the cylinder head.
3. Install the sealing gasket into the cover grooves and install the cylinder head cover onto the engine.
4. Secure the cover with bolts, tightening them to the required torque, and tightening them in the sequence shown in the figure.
5. Install the distributor cap and connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
6. Connect the crankcase ventilation hoses.
7. Install the air filter.
8. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
9. Start the engine and check that there are no oil leaks from under the cylinder head cover.
