Removing
Attention! The cylinder head cover is removed together with high-voltage wires and the distributor cover. When installing the cylinder head cover, a new gasket must be used.
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hoses from the cylinder head cover. If necessary, remove the electrical wires from the mounting brackets on the cylinder head cover and move them to the side.
4. Mark and remove high-voltage wires from spark plugs.
5. Remove the ignition distributor cap.
6. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
7. Remove the cylinder head cover gasket and, if equipped, remove the gaskets from the front or rear of the cylinder head.
Installation
The sequence of tightening the cylinder head cover bolts
1. Clean the inner surface of the cylinder head cover from oil deposits.
2. Install gaskets on both sides of the cylinder head.
3. Install the gasket into the grooves of the cover and install the cylinder head cover to the engine.
4. Fasten the cover with bolts, tightening them to the required torque, and tightening in the sequence shown in the figure.
5. Establish a cover of the distributor of ignition and connect high-voltage wires to spark plugs.
6. Connect crankcase ventilation hoses.
7. Install the air filter.
8. Connect ground wire to battery.
9. Start the engine and check that there are no oil leaks from under the cylinder head cover.
