Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the generator drive belt.
3. Remove the compressed air supply tube.
4. Disconnect the compressed air supply pipe from the turbocharger.
5. Disconnect vacuum tube 1 from vacuum converter Y80 (see figure 5.71).

6. Remove retaining ring 2 from compressed air pressure change valve pin 4.
7. Disconnect the connecting lever 3 from the pin of the compressed air pressure change valve 4.
8. Unscrew the nut securing the D+ chain wire from the G1 generator.
9. Unscrew the nut securing the B+ circuit wire from the G1 generator.
10. Unscrew the bolts 6 securing the generator G1 to the timing chain cover.
11. Remove generator G1.
Installation
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
