2. Measure the distance B from the end of the intermediate shaft to the outer ring of bearing 33 using a caliper (figure 4.90).

4. Measure the distance D from the top edge to the drive shaft 23 in the gearbox cover (figure 4.92).

5. Determination of axial clearance:
- Distance B 16.40 mm - Distance A 16.30 mm = Distance E 0.10 mm (figure 4.93).

- Distance D 15.00 mm - Distance C 14.40 mm = Distance F 0.60 mm (figure 4.94).

- Distance F 0.60 mm + Distance E 0.10 mm = actual gap 0.70 mm.
- Set gap: 0.10-0.20 mm.
- Actual clearance 0.70 mm - Allowable clearance 0.10 mm = thickness of adjusting shims 0.60 mm.
- Thickness of adjusting shims: 0.20 and 0.30 mm.
6. Install adjusting shims 22 of the required thickness when installing the intermediate shaft (figure 4.95).
