Removal and installation of the main brake cylinder
The main brake cylinder is fixed on the end surface of the brake force booster and is removed from the engine compartment.
Put the hose on the air bleed fitting, lower the other end of the hose into a suitable container, open the fitting and press the brake pedal several times until the brake fluid stops draining from the hose.
Disconnect the brake fluid level light switch plug located next to the reservoir cap.
Swinging in both directions, pull the tank out of the mounting bushings.
Disconnect the pipes and bend carefully to the side. Seal the ends of the pipeline with adhesive tape.
Loosen the cylinder mount. Do not drop the rubber sealing ring on the end of the brake booster.
Installation of the main brake cylinder is carried out in the reverse order. Install a new rubber sealing ring. Install the brake master cylinder mounting bolts and tighten to 15 Nm. An unregulated pushrod is installed in the brake force booster. Fix the reservoir, fill in the brake fluid and bleed the air from the hydraulic system as described below.
Repair of the main brake cylinder
Repair of the main brake cylinder is not provided. If the cylinder is defective, it must be replaced.
