Removal and installation the front caliper (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W116)

Raise the front of the car and remove the wheels.

Place a hose on the air bleed nipple and lower the other end of the hose into a suitable container.

Open the nipple and press the brake pedal several times until the brake fluid stops draining from the hose.

Unscrew the brake hose from the pipeline from the inside of the wheel arch and insert plugs into the holes in the hose and pipeline.

Using a small screwdriver, lift the two covers of the brake wear sensor and disconnect the plug with the wire (if installed).

Unscrew the brake hose from the caliper.

Loosen the two caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. Fig. 246 shows the caliper installation. The caliper installation is performed in the reverse order. Install a new locking plate and tighten the caliper mounting bolts to 115 Nm. Bleed the brake system and check its operation.
