Brake force booster (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W116)

0
Disassembly of the brake booster is not provided, since disassembly and assembly of the booster can only be performed in specialized workshops. A malfunction of the brake booster does not mean a loss of braking qualities, but will require applying more force to the brake pedal to ensure the required deceleration of the car.

Removal of the amplifier is performed in the following sequence:

Remove the master brake cylinder.

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the booster.

Remove the cover under the instrument panel and disconnect the push rod from the brake pedal.

Loosen the nuts securing the booster on the inside and remove the brake booster.

The amplifier is installed in the reverse order. Tighten the mounting nuts and tighten to a torque of 15...25 Nm.
