Details of the installation of the GTZ
1 - GTZ; 2,3 - Brake lines; 9 - Tank seat bushings; 10 - Master cylinder reservoir; 16 - Brake booster; 17 - Sealing ring; 19 - Nuts
1. Remove the brake fluid reservoir (10) (see above).
2. Disconnect the brake lines (2 and 3) from the brake master cylinder (1).
3. Loosen the fastening nuts (19) and remove the master brake cylinder (1) from the brake booster unit (16), - do not tilt the cylinder to avoid damaging the fastening tabs as a result of the thrust rod seat being out of alignment. Prepare replacement nuts (19) and sealing ring (17).
Attention! The brake master cylinder cannot be repaired and must be replaced if it fails!
4. Finally, bleed the brake system (see Section Bleeding the brake system) and check its hydraulic system for signs of developing leaks.
