Checking the brake fluid level (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W202)

0
The brake fluid reservoir is located in the engine compartment. It is divided into two chambers, one for each brake circuit. The screw cap has a ventilation hole, which must not be clogged. The reservoir is transparent, so that the brake fluid level can be checked from the outside at any time. It is advisable to look at the reservoir at regular intervals.

The fluid level with the lid closed should be between the "max" and "min" marks stamped on the tank.

Use only DOT 4 specification brake fluid.

Due to wear of the brake discs, a slight decrease in the brake fluid level occurs. This is considered normal.

But if the brake fluid level drops significantly over a short period of time, this is a sign of a leak.

In this case, it is necessary to immediately find the leak location. For safety reasons, the brake system should be checked in a specialized auto repair shop.
