Checking the oil level in the power steering gear
1. Unscrew the screw plug and remove the cover from the receiver.
2. The oil level, if the oil is cold (ambient temperature approximately +20°C) in the receiver should be between the "min" and "max" marks.
3. If necessary, top up with Mercedes-Benz steering gear oil N 000 989 88 03.
Attention! It is essential to add only new oil, as even the smallest contaminants can cause problems in the operation of the hydraulic system.
4. Check the sealing ring on the lid for porosity or damage.
5. Place the pump body cover in place and secure it with the screw plug.
6. Then, with the engine running, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times, which will remove air from the system.
Checking the oil level (hydraulic fluids) in the ride height control/automatic differential lock system
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface.

2. Check the oil level with the engine stopped.

2a. Open the cover and pull it out together with the oil level indicator (2a).
2b. Wipe this pointer with a lint-free cloth and reinsert it all the way into its original position.
2c. Pull out the dipstick and read the oil level. It should be between the "min" and "max" marks.
3. If you need to add hydraulic fluid, use a clean funnel (60) and a fine-mesh sieve.
Attention! Only hydraulic fluids approved by the manufacturer may be used, for example, Mercedes-000 989 91 03/10.
