Attention! Do not hold the steering wheel fully turned in either direction for more than five seconds. This can damage the steering pump.
2. The reservoir of the power steering system is located in the engine compartment and has a screw cap with a measuring probe built into it.
3. Park your vehicle on level ground and apply the parking brake.
Oil level can be checked cold or hot (starting from +50°C). This describes the cold test. Pay attention to the notes given at the end of the Section if the oil level must be checked when it is warm.
4. The car must not be warm, the engine must not be running. The front wheels must be straight.
5. Unscrew the reservoir cap with a screwdriver. To do this, insert the screwdriver shaft into the groove of the plug.
6. Wipe the level indicator under the cap with a clean cloth.
7. Screw on and back off the plug by hand. The liquid level in the compensation tank, depending on its temperature, must coincide with the corresponding zone of the indicator.
8 Fluid cold (at ambient temperature): the level must be in the area -A- (cool).
Fluid at operating temperature (about +50°C): The level must be in the hot area.
9. If necessary, the liquid level in the tank should be topped up. To top up the level, use only new fluid, as even the slightest contamination can lead to a malfunction of the hydraulic system.
Attention! If the fluid level in the reservoir has dropped below the fluid temperature zone, the hydraulic power steering should be checked by a specialist workshop because there is fluid loss. In this case, it is not enough to limit yourself to just adding the liquid level.
