2. Illuminate the dust caps of the axle joint on the left and right side of the lamp (7) and check them for damage, while paying attention to traces of grease on and around the cuffs.
3. Light the pilot joint dust caps left and right with a lamp and check them for damage, while paying attention to oil marks on and around the cuffs.
4. If the dust cap is damaged, for safety reasons, replace the corresponding hinge together with the dust cap. The infiltrated dirt will surely destroy the hinge.
5. Check upper control arm pivot play (6). To do this, firmly pull and press on the front wheel and at the same time feel the ball joint with your finger. If there is play, replace the upper control arm.
Attention! During this test, the hinge must be unloaded (the car is jacked up).
6. Check axle joint clearance (7). To do this, click below (arrow) in the direction of the wishbone (4).
7. To check for backlash in the auto repair shop, a special tool is used. If there is play, replace the simple hinge.
8. Check the tightness of the fastening nuts of the simple and steering joints, but do not turn them.
