Checking the driveshaft joint discs (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W202)

1. Raise the car.

2. If necessary, remove the lower engine compartment cover.

3. Using a lamp, visually inspect the front and rear hinge discs for wear, damage, and deformation.



4. Check the transverse ribs in the area of the unloading bushings (arrows) for cracks.

5. If necessary, replace the joint disk. If there is deformation, reduce the load on the cardan shaft, but if the deformation remains, also replace the joint disk.
