1. Raise the car.
2. Check the tightness of the mounting clamps.
3. Shine a light and inspect the exhaust system for holes, rusted parts, and areas of harmful contact.
4. Replace severely crushed (dented) pipes.
5. Check the rubber mounts for porosity by rotating and stretching them and replace them if necessary.
6. Check the electrical connection and tight fit of the oxygen sensor (lambda probe).
7. Tighten all bolts and nuts on flange connections to a torque of 20 Nm.
8. Lower the car.
