Sequence of works
1. On a sedan, remove the rear seat cushion; on a station wagon, fold the rear seat forward.

2. Remove the wire from the negative terminal of the battery to prevent a short circuit during further work (Fig. 9.11).
3. Remove the cable from the positive terminal of the battery.
4. Remove the ventilation tube (if it is installed).
5. Unscrew and remove the bolt securing the bottom of the battery.
6. Remove the battery.
7. When installing the battery again, make sure it is securely fastened (shaking while driving can damage the lead electrodes of the battery).
8. First connect the positive terminal, then the negative one. It is impossible to mix up the wire terminals, since the battery terminal contacts have different diameters.
9. Replace the ventilation tube (if it is provided).
10. Apply a special compound or petroleum jelly to the terminals.
11. Enter the radio code.
