Removal the instrument cluster (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

Sequence of works





1. Unlock the steering column adjustment system and pull the steering wheel forward completely.

2. On the left side, remove the lower panel covering the instrument cluster (Fig. 9.34).

3. Press the instrument cluster at the rear towards the steering wheel.

4. It can be removed using two specially bent bicycle spokes. Carefully insert the spokes from above the combination, push them from the side to the lower corner and insert the bent ends, turning them 90°. If the hooks are caught on the combination, pull it out (Fig. 9.35).

5. Lift the clip on both plug connectors and disconnect the connectors.

6. Carefully remove the combination from the side, being careful not to scratch the top surface of the instrument panel.

Instrument cluster malfunctions



If any of the instrument cluster indicators fail, you should first check the fuse box. There are special repair shops for checking and repairing instruments.
