Removing
1. The lambda sensor is screwed into the exhaust pipe and can be accessed from under the vehicle.
2. Raise the front of the car and fix it on stands or place the car over a viewing hole.
3. It is advisable to remove the Lambda sensor after the engine and exhaust system have cooled down.
4. Working under the vehicle, remove the metal shield and disconnect the Lambda sensor electrical connector attached to the underbody. To disconnect the electrical connector, turn it a quarter of a turn counterclockwise and remove it from the socket.
Attention! On later models, the electrical connector for the Lambda sensor is located in the passenger compartment under the driver's foot mat. Disconnect the electrical connector of the Lambda sensor and remove it through the sealing ring in the bottom of the car.
5. Carefully unscrew the lambda sensor from the front exhaust pipe.
Installation
1. Apply a thin layer of non-stick material to the threads of the Lambda sensor. When doing this, be careful not to get non-stick material on the working tip of the sensor.
2. Screw the Lambda sensor into the front exhaust pipe, tighten it to the required torque and connect the sensor's electrical connector.
