Independent heating system

An independent heating system can operate together with the vehicle's heating system regardless of engine operation.

An independent heating system is used to heat the car interior before or during driving, as well as in cases where the main heating system of the car is not working efficiently enough, as well as to defrost the windows and heat the engine coolant.

When starting the engine at very low outside temperatures, the independent heating system can be switched on immediately or at a preset time.

1 – The yellow control LED lights up when the preselect mode is activated.

2 – The green control LED lights up when the independent heating system is operating.

3 – Display for showing the current time, as well as for showing the week and the time of switching on of the independent heating system.

The time of switching on of the independent heating system is the first switching on.

The time of switching on of the independent heating system is the second switching on.

Time of day and day of the week.

Immediate activation of the independent heating system.

Setting the current time of the day of the week and the time to turn on the heating system (back).

Rearrangement of the current time of the day of the week and the time of switching on the heating system (forward).

Actions before turning on the heating system

Do not set the air flow distributor to the position .

Set the air flow control lever to position 1. When you turn on a higher mode, the car's interior will warm up much better, but the load on the battery will also increase.

The yellow LED will go out. After 60 minutes, the independent heating system will automatically switch off.

Quick start of the heating system

Instructions

When the engine is off, to reduce the use of battery energy, it is recommended to turn on the independent heating system for the minimum required time and it is not recommended to turn on the system several times in a row.

When the independent heating system is operating and the key is in the ignition switch in position 0 or 1, or is removed from the ignition switch altogether, the fan turns on only when a certain coolant temperature is reached.

After disconnecting the battery terminals, the current time will start flashing on the display. In this case, it is necessary to set the current time and program the independent heating system.

If the green control LED goes out when the independent heating system is switched on and the P symbol appears on the display, there is a fault in the heating system. In this case, switch on the independent heating system again. If the green control LED goes out again, you must contact a Mercedes-Benz service station for diagnostics and repair of the heating system.
