V-belt (standard design)
1. Tension roller
2. Belt pulley crankshaft
5. Belt pulley of the three-phase current generator
7. Power steering pump belt pulley
8. Water pump pulley
The V-belt drives all additional engine units. The ribbed V-belt is wider than the conventional V-belt and has many ribs on the inside. The ribbed V-belt is tensioned by an automatic tensioner consisting of a tension spring, a tension roller and a shock absorber. The shock absorber ensures uniform belt tension over the entire engine speed range. Depending on the equipment of the car, the V-belt has a different length.
Removing
1. Remove the hydraulic fan clutch.
Attention! The union nut has a left-hand thread.
2. Release the tensioner, unscrew the collar nut (378).
3. Insert into the hole of the spring tension lever (374) rod and press it against the force of the extension spring (380) to the left (towards the dipstick), as long as the bolt (375) will not be relieved so that it can be pushed towards the intake pipe. As a rod, you can use a wrench from the on-board tool of a car or a lever about 300 mm long and 12-13 mm in diameter.
4. Slowly release the spring tension lever, depress the tension roller and remove the V-belt.
Installation
1. Check the belt pulley profiles for damage and dirt, clean or replace the pulleys if necessary. At the same time, pay attention to the holes in the belt pulleys and the loose attachment points of the tensioner.
2. If there are holes on the pulley, replace it. Also replace the tensioner if the mounting supports are loose.
3. Ribbed V-belts with contamination between the projections of the ribs, belts with transverse cracks and broken ribs must be replaced.
4. Raise the tensioner slightly, turn the belt from the back so that a small loop is formed, and push it between the water pump and crankshaft belt pulleys.
5. Firmly press the ribbed V-belt against the coolant pump pulley and turn the pulley to the left at the same time (arrow), until the belt is on the idler pulley.
6. Place the V-ribbed belt over the idler pulley and the crankshaft pulley. Then, rotate the free part of the belt and place it on the belt pulleys of the cooling compressor, power steering pump, coolant pump and three-phase current generator.
7. With a rod (1) turn the spring tension lever to the left (2), as long as it allows the bolt (3). This is how the belt is tensioned. (4 - stretching spring).
8. Tighten collar nut (1).
9. Check the fit of the ribbed V-belt on the belt pulleys.
10. Install the hydraulic fan clutch.
