Removing
1. On 6-cylinder engines, depressurize the power system as described in paragraph 2.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Remove the air cleaner as described in paragraph 3.
4. Where provided, remove the bolts and remove the linkage bracket from the airflow sensor and slide it to the side.
5. Disconnect the linkage return spring on the throttle body and the connecting rod. Where provided, disconnect the constant speed drive linkage from the throttle lever.
6. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the throttle body. Label them to avoid confusion during installation.
7. Disconnect the throttle switch plug from the block.
8. Turn away nuts of fastening of the case to an inlet collector.
9. Loosen the large clamp on the rubber connecting sleeve between the housing and the airflow sensor (see fig. 9.9).

10. On 6-cylinder engines, the entire fuel distributor assembly must be removed from the intake manifold - refer to paragraph 14 for information. On 4-cylinder engines, follow the steps described in paragraphs. 11-13 inclusive.
11. Remove the two nuts securing the airflow sensor to the rubber mounts on the end of the throttle linkage.
12. Turn away a nut of the union of a drain fuel line from a reverse side of a regulator of pressure of fuel and disconnect a fuel line. Get ready for the fact that some of the gasoline may leak.
13. Gently lift the airflow sensor up so that the throttle body can be removed.
14. Turn away bolts of fastening and remove the case from an inlet collector.
15. On 6-cylinder engines, remove the throttle body gasket. On 4-cylinder engines, using a sharp blade, cut and remove the middle portion of the intake manifold gasket that is in contact with the throttle body. Be careful not to scratch the mating surface.
Installation
16. Installation of the throttle body is carried out in the reverse order. Consider the following points:
- A) If the throttle body is to be replaced, a new throttle switch must also be installed as the two parts are matched as a pair.
- b) On 6-cylinder engines, install a new body gasket.
- V) On 4-cylinder engines, cut the center piece on the new gasket and lay it in place of the throttle body (see fig. 9.16).
- G) Bolts of fastening of a butterfly valve tighten with the demanded effort.
- d) Make sure the vacuum hoses are installed correctly as indicated. made upon removal.
- e) When finished, check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed as described in Chapter 1A.
