Gear shift cable (Mercedes-Benz Vito W638)

Removal

1. Remove the air duct 8 of the passenger compartment heating (see figure 6.73).

5. Rubber bushing,
6. Accelerator pedal,
7. Instrument panel,
8. Air duct.

2. Remove the ashtray.

3. Disconnect cable 3 from the automatic transmission and transmission lever 2. Set the gear selector lever to position "1".

4. Remove the locking device 4.

5. Press out the rubber bushing 5.

6. Remove cable 3 together with rubber bushing 5 forward through the engine compartment bulkhead.

Installation

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that the rubber bushing 5 is installed correctly. Check locking device 4 and replace it if necessary.
