Manual transmission (MT) (Mercedes-Benz Vario 814)

Caution: Always drain the oil from a warm gearbox.


1. Wipe the surface near the drain 2 and filler 1 plugs (figure 1.17a,b).

2. Unscrew the drain and filler plugs and drain the oil. Wipe the magnet on the drain plug. Check the seal and replace it if necessary.

3. Screw in the drain plug and tighten it to a torque of 60 Nm.

4. Fill the oil through the filler hole. The volumes of oil for manual transmissions are shown in Table 1.3.

5. Tighten the filler plug to a torque of 60 Nm.

6. Remove the oil pump thermal switch bridge connection.



7. Start the engine, let it run for 2 minutes and then turn it off.

8. Unscrew the filler plug 1.

9. Add oil to the upper limit.

10. Tighten the filler plug to a torque of 60 Nm.
