Attention: Do not adjust the idle code on a very hot engine.
Connect RPM and CO meters according to their operating instructions.
Check ignition timing.
Check intake system for leaks. To do this, use a brush to cover with gasoline all the connections of the intake device on the working engine. If the RPMs go up, it means the engine is sucking in more air in the area it just wiped. Locate and eliminate leaks.
Attention: Do not inhale fuel vapors - poison! Avoid splashing gasoline on hot parts and the ignition system. Fire hazard!
Check the air filter element.
Turn off all electrical consumers.
Detach the crankcase breather hose from the cylinder head cover and route it so that it can only take in outside air.
Check engine idle speed. In case of deviation, adjust.
Remove protective cap (4) through the slot at the top of the air filter. In the absence of a special tool, pierce the plastic cap, screw in a screw or self-tapping screw and pull out the screw along with the seal. Press down on the adjustment device with a small screwdriver (2) and turn slightly until the hex end (3) will not come into contact with the CO adjusting bolt (61) and adjust the CO content.
Remove the screwdriver from the adjusting device and lightly press the gas pedal, then check the CO content.
Re-adjust if necessary.
Install the protective seal in place.
Give a partial load to the engine by turning on all consumers of electricity (air conditioning, headlights, radio, etc.). The engine should work without interruption, if this does not happen, then adjust the idle speed.
Turn off meters.
Connect the crankcase breather hose.
