The K-Jetronic is a mechanical petrol injection device that continuously injects fuel into the intake pipe ahead of the intake valves.
Fuel from the tank is supplied first to the fuel storage tank, and then through the filter to the fuel distributor.
The fuel pump relay energizes the fuel pump and energizes the cold start injector at start-up and while the engine is running. The relay removes power to the fuel pump when the ignition is turned off and when the ignition pulses stop (engine stopped and ignition on).
The warm-up regulator enriches the fuel mixture during the warm-up phase.
Since September 1981, cars have been equipped with a switch for increased engine speed at idle, which helps to save fuel and ensure smoother acceleration of the car.
The engine overspeed switch, when the microswitch on the throttle link is turned off, supplies fresh air to the engine, bypassing the air flow meter, as a result of which the air flow meter damper moves to the zero position and blocks the fuel supply.
