Injector failure causes engine starting difficulties (both cold and hot), transient disturbances and high fuel consumption.
The thermal time switch limits the injection time of the cold start injector depending on the engine temperature.
To remove the cold start injector, perform the following steps:
Disconnect injector connector (98).
Disconnect the fuel hose from the injector.
Attention: If the nozzle is removed only for testing purposes, the electrical wire and hose remain connected.
Remove the nozzle by unscrewing 2 nuts.
To check the cold start injector, perform the following steps.
Connect the brown/blue wire of the thermal switch to ground, this simulates an engine temperature below
Caution: Do not ground the pink/blue wire. Risk of short circuit!
Place a beaker under the nozzle. 'And a Disconnect the connector of the switching unit of the transistorized ignition system so that the engine cannot start.
Turn on the starter briefly. The nozzle should provide fuel injection with a uniform cone.
After turning off the starter, not a single drop of fuel should appear from the nozzle within one minute. The nozzle outside must be dry,
To install the cold start injector, follow the removal steps in reverse order.
Attention: Be sure to replace the injector gasket with a new one.
