Front wheel bearing clearances:

Axial clearance in the front wheel hub - 0.01...0.02 mm

Axial clearance tester - 136 589 0421 or 116 589 1212 00 and dial indicator

Front suspension ball joints:

Upper and lower pivot pin joints
  • Grease - Long lasting grease
  • Amount of grease - 5 - 6 g

Checking the condition of the hinges



There should be no gap between the ball pin and the joint housing; the ball pin should rotate relative to the housing without jamming or creaking.

Check the integrity of the protective cover.

Front suspension strut gaps:

Measure the wheel rim clearance (at the bottom of the rim flange). To check, place a stand under the lower wishbone.

Front wheel support:
  • new car - 0.03 mm
  • permissible wear limit - 0.10 mm

Steering knuckle bearings: no gaps in the ball joints both when the car is new and after a long run

Suspension wishbone bearings: no gaps in the rubber-to-metal hinges of the wishbones after long mileage

Pivot pin



Permissible runout of working surfaces at bearing installation sites is 0.05 mm

Working surface diameters:
  • outer bearing - 21.44 - 21.43 mm
  • inner bearing - 34.93 - 34.92 mm
  • oil seal - nominal - 50.00 - 49.84 mm

Front suspension anti-roll bar:
  • Part number - 16 323 5265
  • Stabilizer diameter - 25.5 mm
  • Stabilizer support number - 116 323 3685 and 116 323 3585
  • The diameter of the hole in the rubber support of the stabilizer is 23.5 mm
  • The eccentricity of the hole is 3 mm, indicated by a blue dot
