Sequence of work
1. Remove the rear wheel drive shaft.
Pic. 6.23. Unscrew the threaded clamps with a screwdriver and replace with new ones from the dirt-protective cover repair kit
2. Remove the dirt boot strap from the inner end of the drive shaft (pic. 6.23).
3. Knock the protective cover off the hinge and remove it. Remove the dust boot cover on the other side of the hinge in the same way.
4. Pull off the mudguard and remove grease from the hinge.
5. Remove the circlip.
6. Clamp the drive shaft in a vise and, evenly hitting the inner ring of the hinge, knock it off the shaft.
7. You can now replace the dust cover and hinge if necessary. Repair kits for these parts include new clamps, a new snap ring and the required amount of special grease, which is liberally applied to the hinge during assembly (100 g per hinge).
8. Apply a long-term sealant to the inner edges of the collars before reinstalling the collars on the outer pivot ring.
