Caution! The oil level must not be above the "Maximal" mark, as unburned oil may enter the exhaust system and damage the catalytic converter. Excess oil must be drained.
High oil consumption
Please note the following circumstances:
- 1. Before checking oil consumption, you need to visually check that there are no oil leaks from the engine.
- 2. If the oil level is above the maximum mark on the dipstick, then oil consumption will always be higher, since its excess goes through the crankcase ventilation system.
- 3. All-season oil that has been used in the engine for a long time requires constant topping up.
- 4. "A sharp driving style" increases the consumption of not only fuel, but also oil, especially when driving at high speeds.
- 5. Oil consumption is always higher during the break-in period of a new car (minimum mileage - 5000 km).
- 6. Oil consumption increases when the engine is faulty, for example, if the valve seats are worn out, the oil seals are hardened, the rings or cylinder walls are incorrectly seated or damaged.
