Through the piston rings with a working engine, from 50 to 70 liters of exhaust gases per minute pass into the crankcase. Gases must be vented from the engine so as not to create strong stresses on the seals. This is done by crankcase ventilation. To protect the environment, poisonous gases from the engine enter the suction system and from there are again fed into the engine for complete combustion.
