The coolant consists of a mixture of antifreeze, corrosion protection additives and water. The plant uses a concentrate, the chemical composition of which is specially designed for Mercedes engines. The mixture of water and antifreeze depends on the total amount of coolant in the cooling system, which varies slightly for some types of engines depending on the equipment. The proportion of antifreeze should be 50% - this protects the liquid from freezing at a temperature of -37°C. With an antifreeze content of more than 50%, the heat transfer of the coolant deteriorates. The content of antifreeze should not be lower than 40%, otherwise the effect of antifreeze, corrosion protection will deteriorate and at a negative temperature the coolant will begin to thicken.
