Cars are equipped with two brake systems that work independently of each other - working and parking. In the event of a failure of one of the systems, the car can be stopped using the other. The system is divided into two circuits.
The first is responsible for braking the front wheels, the second - the rear. If one circuit fails, for example due to leaks, the vehicle can be stopped by another circuit. In this case, in order to get the same effective braking as with a working brake system, you will have to press the brake pedal with much more effort. The pedal travel is increased and the braking distance is significantly longer.
working (foot) The hydraulic braking system on Mercedes E-class models consists of a master cylinder, booster and disc brakes on the front and rear wheels. The pressure in both brake circuits is created in the dual brake master cylinder when the brake pedal is depressed.
